Production of The Honey Trap

Directed and written by Rebecca Johnson

The film is based on a true story and is made to bring awareness of London's gang culture to the audience.

There were multiple producers for the film as it independent which makes it harder for the director (Rebecca) to find a production company as big named companies such as Universal Studios would not take the risk as The Honey Trap is not a tentpole film.

The producers are:

           Bright Pictures

        Fierce Productions

Rebecca was fortunate as she had a link to Sarah Sulick who actually understood the meaning of her project and therefore helped her to produce The Honey Trap via a production company.

The budget for The Honey Trap was under £1,000,000 due to the fact it is an independent film.

Crowd Funding was used to get the money needed to shoot the film via an online campaign on Idegogo (a website)

Based on the campaign, they managed to raise $40,106 which was only 53% of their goal but it ia still a fantastic amount.

A grant of £20,000 was given to Rebecca and Firece Production from Walcot Foundation as Rebecca is planning to change and improve the lives of 30 young people in the Brixton area.

The cast/crew were not professional actors and actresses but local raw talent found from workshops run by Amanda Tabak, this is known as 'Street Casting'. This methods allows the film to be more original and authentic as it allows the audience to relate to the message which is what Rebecca Intended.

The Honey Trap was filmed in Brixton, London, UK. This is because Rebecca's othe films were also shot there and she has been shooting there since 2004.

Technologies used were the conventional: a camera, editing software, tripod etc
Due to the fact it is an independent film the equipment would not be that expensive and therefore not of the best quality.
